1920s GRUEN Wrist Watch, 15 Jewels, 14K Gold Filled, Mechanical Watch, Ladies Watch, Wrist Watch, Filigree Band, Vintage Women’s Watch

This is a beautiful 1920’s GRUEN Ladies Wrist Watch that is done in 14K Yellow Gold Fill. It has 15 Jewels and the dial or face is solid silver. It has large Arabic Black numbers around the outer edge and dark blue hands. The watch case has beautiful ornate etched scroll work all the way around the sides, around the edges in the back of the case and also on the front of the case around the crystal. This watch is a long rectangle that measures 27mm from one edge of the case to the other and it is 17.5mm wide.

This watch has a beautifully clean face and the crystal is clear as well. There is an inscription on the back of the case from the previous owner. The name is “MAUDE McLAUGHLIN” that is inscribed in a lovely cursive script.

The filigree bracelet has be reapplied to the watch, in keeping with the time period of the watch. A repair was done on the bar that connects the band to the case. The band is able to be manually removed, however, when wearing it, it will be always be secure. This watch could fit many wrist sizes because it has a fold over clasp that also allows for different wrist sizes

• There are 15 Jewels inside the watch
• Watch is a Mechanical Wind up Watch - **It has a great ticking sound that you only get with a great old watch!
• Wind up Crown is smooth – accuracy of time appears to be good
• Condition is Very Good – Estimated age is Circa 1920s - repair was done to reconnect the band to the watch; a decorative gold cover was made to wrap over the rod to help keep the band in place. There is some play with the covers, but all in all, I think it is a pretty ingenious fix!
• All Hallmarks are found on the inside of the watch – Marked “14K Gold Filled” and “15 jewels”; “GRUEN” is found on the front face of the clock written in black.
