1930s, LUMIERE Opera Glasses, Mother of Pearl, Mini Binoculars, Theatre Glasses, French Opera Glasses, Opera Glasses, Vintage Opera Glasses

This is a gorgeous Unused pair of French Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses made by the Lumiere Company. These opera glasses are in Mint Condition… in fact, I continue to try to research them to ensure that I have the right decade. The only reason why I continue to come back to around the 1930’s is because these opera glasses don’t move to a wider position for easier viewing with different facial sizes. These opera glasses are stationary in that regard. They do however expand and contract to high and low levels for purposes of focusing, but they don’t move out or in, width wise. Viewing through the Opera Glasses are clear and crisp, but you do need to focus them to your own needs.

These opera glasses are in amazing condition and they have a wonderful brocade case that snaps shut with two snaps, one on each side. The opera glasses have gold trim around the tops, middle and bottom of the binoculars. The mother of pearl is inlaid panels that wrap all the way around each tube. In the center is a mother of pearl twist mechanism that turns nicely to expand and contract the lenses. These opera glasses are simply stunning in every way, so beautifully made and so beautifully kept. I’m guessing that they were kept in a drawer perhaps in a box with plastic covering it beccause the case has no loss of color and the glasses are just showroom perfect!!

• Size of the Opera Glasses are 2 inches contracted and 2.5 inches expanded

• Width of the Opera Glasses are approximately 3.5 inches

• Size of the case is 4 inches wide by 2 5/8 inches high by 2 3/8 deep

• Condition is “LIKE NEW”

• Hallmarks are found on the Opera Glasses “LUMIERE” and “FRANCE” and “MADE IN FRANCE”
